About Me

DSC00130_edited.jpg

Theory and philosophy of practice.

I practice from a person-centered, psychodynamic lens and incorporate various treatment approaches including CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) strategies, along with Strengths Based Therapy, Insight Oriented Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Solution Focussed Techniques.

So let’s cut through the psychological jargon; What does all that actually mean? Basically, because you and your situation are unique and dynamic, I utilize aspects of various treatment modalities in order to tailor treatment to you as an individual. Who you are today - the things you believe about yourself and your beliefs about the world were all shaped by a myriad of circumstances and experiences. While treating symptoms can be important and is certainly something we will address, I’m most passionate about helping you get to the root of your issues to begin the process of lifelong healing and change. There is transformative power in authentic connection and I believe the therapeutic relationship is the primary foundation for healing and success in therapy.

Journey to Create Change

Change happens when the discomfort of staying the same outweighs the discomfort of doing the work to create change. I’m not going to lie to you, growth and change are hard, and sometimes a little bit scary, but you don’t have to take on that challenge alone! You can heal, you can find hope, and you can discover the power to create change.

Whether you are just feeling “stuck,” struggling with anxiety, experiencing major life transitions, relationship stressors, or healing from the ending of a relationship, I want to help you regain a sense of control over your life, find healing and create change!
